April 15, 2011

Dear Parents,

It looks as though we are going to have great weather for our Friday afternoon projects. The 7th and 8th graders participated in one or more of these activities:

Building a hoop house
Planting peas
Building a straw floor in the greenhouse
Putting up the garden fence

Mrs. Weed finished her unit on manners by hosting a very nice luncheon for the 5/6 class. It was a really nice occasion.

The 5th and 6th graders came very close to completing their math units. We will pick this up after vacation and finish up the first week.

They have also been working very hard on collecting data about plant growth and temperature. You can take a look at their work on the webpage. Look for the link that says Journey North.

The 7th and 8th graders have been studying covalent and ionic bonds. Each of them set up an experiment and will have results when they return to school.
As part of her unit on manners, Mrs. Weed set up a lovely lunch for the 5/6 students.
